Tamara's Challenges

Just a quick post,...I need to straighten my scraproom, finish Tamara's February challenges; and when my Scraptiv!ty box arrives, I will be diligently working on their projects! Today, I want to share the Week 3 and Week 4 Challenges on Sketches! {by tamara}. Week 4 is above. The challenge reads as follows:

Journal about something in your life that you have overcome. It can be something very personal and of great importance or something that was a big moment or change in your life. Or it can be something that is more light hearted, maybe not a huge ordeal in your life but still a situation or something that you had to overcome and make it through to get to where you wanted to be or to accomplish what you wanted to accomplish.

Here are a couple close-ups:

Week 3 was a card sketch. I rotated this sketch:,

and created this:

Have a super day! Be blessed! James 1:17
Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.
...to God be the glory.

My Mind's Eye Sketch Challenge

Kurt always has loved costumes and dressing up for different roles. As a Philadelphia Eagles fan, it's hard to take his latest Tony Romo obsession. All he wanted for his birthday, (yesterday), was a Dallas #9 jersey. I could not refuse a seven year olds only gift wish so now we shall listen to his banter about how cool he looks for days. He has already declared that he wants to wear it today, tomorrow and Monday! He requested that we wash it Sunday night,...lol. Anyway, I digressed.....

It was so cute to see him at Awana's Pinewood Derby in his racecar driver costume. And, what an awesome line of papers and embellishments to document the occasion! This quick and easy page was made using mostly MME's Abbey Road Round & Round Collection and their current sketch contest.

Also, please check yesterdays post and enter a guess to Scraptiv!ty's February kit. I know this sounds dramatic but my excitement yesterday when I found out what was coming my way, from them, brought tears of joy to my eyes. LOL, it's true. :) Unbeknownst to me, yesterday's layout was totally appropriate as another clue to a manufacturer being represented in the kit. Dare I say that it will be an ultimate favorite of mine yet. I only hope that I can live up to my expectation of what I want to do with this kit!! The technique is going to be awesome and fabulous for a Valentine type month!!

Welcome to my Garden

This is what it looks like in early May,....definitely very different from how it looks right now! Sketches! {by tamara} is running a recipe challenge. My layout includes the following:
Rub Ons - on the letters
Flowers
Bling - including gems, studs and bronze Glimmer Mist

I found a handful of unopened pens from my Creative Memories consultant days and would love to send two bold Precious Elements pens, (Silver and Gold), to one commenter. Since, I want to prepare myself for the February Scraptiv!ty,....please check here, and leave a guess for me regarding your thoughts on the products and technique(s) for a chance. And, since your making a guess, why not enter it on their forum, as well, for another chance for a prize from Scraptiv!ty!?! Good luck!

Be blessed!!!

Greatness

Sketches! {by tamara} Challenge #101
Papers are Basic Grey Recess. The cardstock stickers are Little Yellow Bicycle, and are matted onto plain cardstock for added dimension. I wanted to do something funky for the outside edge and made it simple,...I squeezed out the squiggly borders with Tacky Glue and added the embroidery yarn. Then, just dressed it up a little with some self-adhesive rhinestones.

Please, stop by Sketches {by tamara} this Tuesday for a recipe challenge.

Have a fabulous week!

This was Fun

....even if I do not love the photograph. It was a bad year for pictures as we spent late November in Disney and I had a still fairly fresh injury then. But, making the tree with curled 2x1/2" strips of Jillibean Soup,..Grandmas Christmas Soup,...was a blast! Have a great week, and, please, check Sketches! {by tamara} on Tuesday.

Happy New Year!

I hope that it is filled with good health and joy.

This layout was made using a sketch by Liz Chidester. The striped patterned paper is from Rusty Pickle, and the other patterns are Basic Grey, as are the chipboard.

I have been finishing up my projects for Sketches! {by Tamara}, and I am excited for the opening month of reveals. It has been fun designing with the variety of challenges that she provides and I love having a whole month to work with them! Please make sure you check the first sketch this Tuesday, January 5, 2010. I just wish that I could get some better lighting to photograph the projects!

Have a marvelous day, week and 2010! Warmest regards!
