Hope

Enjoyed putting this together with some homemade patterned paper.  I love, love, love the stamps, mostly from Verve.  The little snowflake stamps came from a set years ago by The Scraproom.  Here is a closeup of the printed paper that I created:

What a dufus I am though! I printed out pictures for three challenges and just discovered that the color challenge that I used specifies that it is for a layout.  But, here is a picture that I used for my color mojo:

For the general layout design, I used the Sweet Sunday's current sketch:

Lastly, I took on the Naughty or Nice Challenge to create a winter holiday card with a nice spin, giving it encouraging sentiments and a shabby chic design.  

I was hoping to make a set of cards today. I'm glad I finished this one in time to post today!! Not sure what I'll work on next but I wanted to create a few cards.

Snow

I lived in this house for 12 years.  Sadly, I think these are the only photographs that I have of it.  It was from a snow storm in the mid to late 1990's in Pennsylvania.  I used a fun sketch from Stuck?! Sketches:

The fluffy, puffy friends, in the photos, only come out in December.  The design of the page was created using The Creative Sketch, November Sketch.

The papers and embellishments are mostly from past lines of Basic Grey and Simple Stories.

"Hello" card

Crazy4Challenges is celebrating World Hello Day with a challenge creating a "hello" card.  I tried to incorporate it with a Counterfeit Kit challenge to make a card that "pops".  Unfortunately, I couldn't find a way to use any of the scraps left in my kit.  But, I still wanted to make a card that "popped", thus my dimensional card.  

Being the first time trying to make a card like this and not taking the time to find a tutorial, I kept messing up my folds and scoring.  The card slightly warped.  But I still love it.  I cut the letters with my Cricut.  However, the blue/green cardstock was hand cut.  I vested so much into this card that I felt committed to my plan.  See the side view:

I'll definitely do better next time.  I had a eureka during the process -- finally! 

If only I had a few minions, I'd make dozens of these cards!!

DPS Thanksgiving

Hello there! I finished another project with my Counterfeit Kit.  I used a terrific sketch that I found at GrandDiva's Creative Corner :

Love Family

Hello! I did not think that I could pull this page together.  The colors in the photograph, with the skin pigments, were leaving some family members looking ultra pale while others were extremely rosy.  I changed papers, moved things and became ecstatic when a couple challenges helped pull it together for me.  All items, with the exception of the woodgrain and the pennant mats are from my November Counterfeit Kit Challenge.

The general layout is based on this terrific sketch from Paper Issues: 

The theme came together with a "Decorative Door" challenge from the Counterfeit Kit Challenge blog.  The door found on CFC's Pinterest page is shown below:

Despicable Me!

I need a thousand minions, or even two or three.  Then, maybe I'd be able to do a fraction of what I set out to do.  ;)

I missed Stampin Celebrations deadline for their SC90 challenge by two days.  It was one fourth the motivation for my card.  Can you see why?

The cupcake was cut years ago from an American Crafts patterned paper.  I'm still hoarding a dozen cut cupcakes! I colored this one with copics, Moon White, and outlined it with a Creative Memories Fine-Tip pen. The dots are stamped with Papertrey's, Hawaiian Shores ink.

The patterned paper are two sides of one Dear Lizzy 5th & Frolic paper, same as was used on my November 1st card.  

Fusion Card Challenge has a similar image that fits my card with the colors and cake.

Since theirs is due in 9 days, you have plenty of time to join in the fun here. 

The layout of the card with the Poloroid image was entirely motivated by Sunday Stamps sketch challenge:

But, I'd be amiss if I didn't mention Counterfeit Kit Challenge.  Everything came together because of the mojo initially created by my November Counterfeit Kit.

Just Like Family

I journal the bulk of my stories on the back of my pages.  Especially, in a page like this one where I want to capture my memories of the wonderful people.  These past neighbors will never be forgotten.  They have loved on me like few others ever have,...even doing my laundry when it was incredibly hard for me after an accident.

Truly, creating artful pages can be therapeutic as the bits and pieces come together telling a story that perpetuates meaning to the creator.  Here, the paper with the houses reflects the relationship in the neighborhood.  The blue and green were pulled from the colors in the photograph.  But, the canyon orange reflects the Arizona landscape where they now live.  So, maybe it sounds crazy to you.  However, these are thoughts that go through my mind as I put it together.

The design of this page was a somewhat literal replication of the November sketch from The Dusty Attic.  I love it!

The papers and embellies come from my Counterfeit Kit Challenge, inspired by this fun blog, Counterfeit Kit Challenge.  The papers are from three collections, Little Yellow Bicycle Feels Like Home, Crate Paper Close Knit and October Afternoon Public Library.  I inked the circle edges  and the paper zigzag with a Copic marker, Tangerine and colored the chipboard zigzags with Memento Potter's Clay.  The chipboard house came from a much earlier collection and the thickers are an additional add-on.

Welcome Home

Deadlines - good or bad.  I'm undecided.  The sketch below by Freshly Made Sketches is due by noon PST today.  I loved the paper combo with the chipboard and epoxy.  I put this together quickly because the sketch is awesome!  I took a break from a page that I almost finished yesterday.  Can't wait to finish it. I worked off the kit that I put together for Counterfeit Kit Challenge for this card.

Using a Papertrey Ink Signature Sketch, Dear Lizzy 5th & Frolic paper and chipboard, Papertrey stamps and die, Memento London Fog Ink. Inside: Papertrey Signature Greetings

I'm not sure what to say upon returning after such a long hiatus.  I've created paper projects some, worked on some updating around the house, a little; but, mostly just family stuff prioritizing my time.

I'm starting November with a new goal to create and post.  I've missed the creative time.  Since challenges always motivate me, I've chosen a couple to get me started.  Above, uses a sketch from Papertrey Ink.

But I'm, also, excited to participate in the November Counterfeit Kit Challenge. Using the picture directly to create a grouping of supplies on hand to use for the month has me excited.

Here is my collection:

Leaves, tags, a large cursive font and some gold embossing powder to add my own gold metallic:

Ribbons, inks, gold transfer paper, textured vellum paper (orange), and a stamp that looks a little like a feather:

 

 Maybe, I'll create some of my own feathers and color them:

Lastly, I want to give The Scraproom credit for much of the paper product and embellies.  Tammy is still the bomb at putting together good stuff.  I kinda cheated in putting together a group with catching some supplies on sale in October to try to kick start my mojo.
