Cardboard Altered Mantel Clock

This was a fun project! Trying to do something different, I came up with a cardboard mantel clock. This clockface stamp and glossy accents were my starting point:

I stamped the image onto white cardstock with Versamark watermark stamp pad, and used a gold tinsel embossing powder. I cut it out into a circle and matted it with gold metallic paper. Then, I covered the whole image with glossy accents to give it a covered glass appearance. This is the result:

Then, I wanted to make a template for the body of the clock. I googled "mantel clock" to get a picture of one. I used a Creative Memories circle to get the top part perfectly symmetrical, and hand drew one side:

Once I finished one side I cut it out & traced it upside down on the other side, again to

maintain the symmetry.

I cut two strips of cardboard 2&1/4" wide for the top. I traced the cardboard onto patterned paper before putting the clock together.

I taped it altogether underneath with black masking tape. (It doesn't look pretty and you really cannot see any details from the photo. It took alot of tears and frustration to get it attached correctly. When the assembly was complete, I cut and adhered the patterned paper, clock face and trim. The trim really came in handy to hide any imperfections! I hope you like it.
