Good day!
Seriously, I want to make this as concise as possible; but, there is so much to explain. The Counterfeit Kit Challenge blog is forging a travel oriented kit filled with neutrals, gold, travel ephemera and touches of red and blue this month.
My attempts to counterfeit have left me Bedraggled and Bewildered. Bedraggled because of the added browns, muddying up the palette and bewildered because of it's lack of focus. It "travels", (if you will), in several directions.
A cloud paper, (like in the original kit), would have been nice. But I have used the ones that I had along with some cloud chipboard: kite dream, harvest party and He's So Dreamy, (a personal favorite because of the photo). This sketch challenge going on right now at Let's Get Sketchy would be perfect for working in some cloud paper.
But, I digress.
Back to Bedraggled and Bewildered. Another photograph of the total contents arranged a little differently:
I started with what I knew I had as a travel themed paper. The papers are from Best Creation.
I found one full sheet and two 6x6's, along with a couple travel themed embellishments in their paper pocket. I added two new sequin packs and a couple mini letter block stickers to match.
I wanted to add a little more brown to work with and added some My Mind's Eye sheets. It has a nice soft blue in it that works well with the Best Creation.
Next up, some blues and neutrals from Pink Paislee.
I thought it had a bit of a postage look to it; and, it will suit me well as I begin to prepare a small album for a "Week in the Life" that I have had as a March goal. It will be my first Project Life style album.
Did you notice the globe from Bedraggled and Bewildered?
It was found in an old Creative Memories album planner box holding an incomplete Disney Mini-album and a few items to help complete it.
You can read about the start of it here and here. I have now added the completion of this mini to any February projects as an ambition.
Now, the big question,....where do I start?
Thanks for the visit. I hope that you have a super day!!

Certainly a fun kit :) I agree that kit was all over the place so I look at it as scrap all over the place this month :) Can't wait to see what you build with the kit lots to dive into
ReplyDeleteThank you Tina!! Looks like I'm diving into the mini first. :) But, the first page is taking much longer than I thought, (actually the 5th as I did front cover and 1-3 a long time ago) Gotta get back into the flow of the style that I started....
DeleteWhat a fantastic kit Janine! Love, love, love it. And that sketch is definitely going into my files for future reference :)
ReplyDeleteThank you Stephanie!! Would love to see what you do with that sketch!
DeleteI like your kit, I think you've done a great job!
ReplyDeleteThank you Vikki!!
DeleteLooks great Janine. I'm sure you'll find a starting point and feel inspired to create.
ReplyDeleteThank you Julene!! :) Starting with the mini. :)
DeleteYou put together a great kit, Janine! I used to play along and make up a kit each month too. Maybe I'll give it another try.
ReplyDeleteThank you Deanna!! Hope you join in, again. It's been lots of fun for me and been a real mojo booster!
DeleteCute layout, lots of variety to choose from and a nice sketch to get you going,

Thank you Cindy!!
DeleteIt looks good. I think you pulled it off wonderfully - some kits can be tough to copy. Have fun with your PL type album!!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Susanne!! It was definitely a tough one for me.
DeleteI think you did a great job and made this kit all your own. I think you will have a lot of fun with your supplies and get a lot more out of it than you expect! I think that "bewildered" feeling is often the best part of the process because you never really know what the kit will do to your creativity and where it will lead you! I think your kit is fun and I'd definitely use it!
ReplyDeleteThank you Lisa!! As I write this half way in to the month,...it's been a different month. Almost finished with a mini started a few years ago and laying the foundation for an album for next month feels like a pretty decent accomplishment,..even if I'm not completing the many traditional pages that I prefer to do.
DeleteFab kit, lots and lots of extras too which I love
ReplyDeleteGreat kit - lots to get your teeth in to!
ReplyDeleteThank you Laura!!
DeleteFabulous kit! Looks like a great mix of supplies!
ReplyDeleteThank you Margie!!
