We Are Family

This layout uses my Counterfeit Kit Challenge kit, Pie in the Sky, and a wonderful sketch found at Let's Get Sketchy.

The doily was colored with my watercolor kit from the Pie in the Sky kit.  The watercolor paint was creamy and smooth, easy to use and adjust in richness of color.  I kept the color on the weaker side as the light blue from the palette was slightly more purple than the blue in my papers,...keeping the consistency light made the color blend well.

The award ribbon style title embellishment is a lift from Lynnette at The Sassy Scrapper.  Since the papers made me think of a county fair, I thought the ribbon would work well.  I think I liked the fit.  Here is Lynnette's beautiful page that helped me with my idea:
Hope your having a good day.  I had been down with a sore throat and lethargy.  Today, everything is starting to drain and my energy has improved.

Blessings!!

  2. Janine - Love the blue and yellow papers and how you matted the ones under the photo. And those perfectly straight ribbons - did you iron them? Ha ha...I saw your flickr comment and just couldn't resist!

    1. Ha ha! I don't even iron my clothes. I wonder if I hadn't read your post before picking out my ribbons if I would have tried to find ribbons that didn't need to be ironed but wouldn't look as good with the page? :) Thanks Susan!!

  3. Really loving the colors in your kit! Speaking of ironing those ribbons? Next time, just use a light bulb that has been on for a few minutes! Someone gave me that tip when my daughters were little & wore a lot of hair ribbons... just watch your fingers - those bulbs are HOT :-)

  4. So totally flattered that you "lifted" me and it lifted my spirits during what seems to be an eternal winter! Your ribbon is gorgeous. I like the pen stitching on the under layers. Definitely has that county fair feel and you absolutely won the grand prize! Thanks again!
